- Royal Ascot: Tuesday 19 June – Saturday 23 June 2012
- The Derby: Friday 1 June 2012 is Ladies Day, Saturday 2 June is Derby Day
- Henley Royal Regatta: Wednesday 27 June – Sunday 1 July 2012
- Glorious Goodwood: Tuesday 31 July – Saturday 4 August 2012
We just wanted to make sure you had these dates to hand as you start to plan outfits and hats.

to me today that it’s the first positive/happy naoitnal event there’s been for our generation – true! Oh the surname thing – they’re all made up anyway! Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glfccksburg was the Duke of Edinburgh’s surname, but he changed it to Mountbatten before he married the Queen as his uncle – Mountbatten had helped him er, pull the Queen. And the Royal family’s surname was Saxe-Coburg but they changed it to Windsor as Hitler rose to power so they sounded less German. Then Prince Phillip was unhappy that his children wouldn’t bear his surname, so it was agreed that further descendents would be called “Mountbatten-Windsor”. Anyway, I’m having a wedding brunch tomorrow in front of the TV!
